Hi, I’m Daniel, based in Derbyshire in the middle of England. I’ve held an interest in photography from a very early age with my first ‘proper’ camera being an Olympus dual lens compact which I bought in Baltimore back in the 90’s… since then a variety of cameras have followed, however I currently use a Canon 5D and 5D MK2 with various lenses, lighting and other accessories with the key aim of having the right tools available to get the shot that’s needed!
Over the years I’ve gravitated towards food, travel and stock photography and this is represented in the galleries you can see here, however I’ve been known to turn my lens to portraiture, weddings, sport events and other genres when the opportunity presented – I find that the endless variety of photography subjects, locations and ever changing styles are a core reason for my passion behind the lens! That and the fact that there is ALWAYS something new to learn and different shots, styles, lighting setups and recipes to try…
I aim to have a key understanding of what the desired output is from a photo shoot, so I work closely and openly with all involved to ensure that, wherever possible, the final results go above and beyond initial expectations.
Other than behind the lens, you’ll likely find me somewhere outside, either getting muddy XC biking, trail running or perhaps just out for a walk or hike.
